Participate in our studies and we guarantee you will be reimbursed fairly and on time

MedTech Expert is one of very few full-service research agencies that recruits, screens and interviews its own respondents. No third-party panel. No automated messages. You have direct access to the people who will interview and pay you.

Our payment promise

1 working day

Every honorarium, every study, every country. Miss it and we pay you $50 for each working day we’re late — automatically.

In their words

What respondents tell us about working with MedTech Expert

I’ve worked with Tim for 15 years. I get a lot of study requests but now only reply to his requests as I know the [survey] form won’t be longer than advertised and that he’ll pay me right away.

Consultant Interventional Cardiologist

Germany · 26 studies since 2012

Payment arrived almost immediately after I finished the survey. There was a follow-up question by email which I was happy to answer. I’ve done these surveys for other companies and never received the honoraria.

Consultant Vascular Surgeon

United Kingdom · 2 studies

They only ask when it’s relevant. I get maybe two invitations a year and both times it’s been something I had a genuine opinion about.

Respiratory Consultant

USA · 4 studies since 2023

Why it’s different talking to us

Most agencies rent their respondents through third parties. We know ours.

The majority of healthcare research is recruited through third-party panels, the agency runs the interview, nobody speaks to you again. We don’t work that way, and it changes what taking part feels like.

No middleman

We recruit, screen, schedule and moderate every session ourselves. Nobody sells your details on, and nobody is paid a finder’s fee for putting you in a study you’re wrong for.

A named researcher

You’ll deal with the same small team each time — people who understand your specialty well enough to ask a second question, not read from a script.

We remember you

Your specialty, your sub-interests and how often you want to hear from us are held on file — so you get invited to the two studies a year that are genuinely relevant, not twenty that aren’t.
What taking part involves

Four steps, and you’re paid before the week is out.

1

An invitation

A short email describing the therapy area, the format and the honorarium. Decline it and nothing happens — it won’t affect future invitations.
2

2-minute screener

A few questions to confirm fit, plus your payment details. We collect these upfront so nothing holds up your payment later.
3

The interview

Online survey that never exceeds the length advertised or a pre-scheduled call on Teams/Zoom

4

You’re paid

Within one working day of the session finishing. Not 30 days. Not 90. One working day.
Our honoraria payment policy

We pay you within one working day. If we don’t, we pay you more.

Across our industry it is normal for a doctor to wait 30 to 90 days for an honorarium (some Drs even report never being paid!). We want to restore trust in the market research industry — so we fixed our process by which respondents get paid.

How the clock works

If we miss it, we pay you $50 for every working day we’re late, up to $150.

Automatically. You will never have to ask for it, and you’ll never have to notice we were late in the first place.

That fee is our apology for the delay, not extra payment for your time. Your honorarium is set at fair market value for your specialty and the length of the session, and it does not change.

Ethics, independence and your data

What we will and won’t do with your details

We are researchers, not a sales channel

MedTech Expert conducts market research only. We never promote a product, never pass you to a sales team, and never accept a brief that requires us to.

Your identity stays with us

Clients receive anonymised findings. Where a study genuinely requires the client to know who you are, we tell you before you agree, not afterwards.

We hold your details on consent

You can see, correct, export or delete everything we hold at any time, and we re-confirm your consent periodically rather than keeping you on a list forever.

Codes we work to

BHBIA Legal and Ethical Guidelines, the EPHMRA Code of Conduct, UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 — including adverse event reporting obligations, which we’ll explain before any session.

PMCF for Infusion Pump

The Challenge:

➤  Our client’s volumetric infusion pump is operated day-to-day by nurses rather than the physicians who typically feature in PMCF programmes — and each pump is used across hundreds of patients and multiple clinical settings, from ICU to home care. Capturing meaningful safety and performance data meant reaching the true end users and reflecting genuine real-world variation in use

Our Solution:

➤  We recruited infusion nurses and clinical pharmacists across hospital and home-care settings, using a Level 4 case-record approach

+

➤  The final dataset spanned multiple care environments and infusion therapies, giving our client robust real-world evidence of safety and performance across the device’s full intended use — and surfacing usability insights their design team fed into the next product iteration

PMCF via Conference + Online Survey

The Challenge:

➤  Our client faced a Notified Body deadline for PMCF data on their surgical stapler, but traditional online recruitment was progressing too slowly — the target users, colorectal surgeons with recent device experience, were proving unresponsive to standard survey invitations, and the study risked missing its submission window.

Our Solution:

➤ We took the fieldwork to the surgeons. Attending a major European colorectal surgery congress, our team screened and recruited eligible device users face-to-face on the exhibition floor, verifying usage experience on the spot.

+

➤  Surgeons then completed detailed case-record surveys via a follow-up online link. The hybrid approach compressed months of recruitment into a single conference

PMCF for Atherectomy Product

The Challenge:

➤  Our client needed to gather post-market clinical follow-up data for the 10F and 12F interactions of their atherectomy product.

+

➤  Since primary use of this product is with 6F and 8F, this posed a recruitment challenge to identify and then engage users of this niche product.

Our Solution:

➤  We leveraged our close network of Vascular Surgeons and Interventional Radiologists to provide referrals for known users of the niche 10F and 12F sizes

+

➤ 100 x Level 4 surveys completed — delivering the real-world clinical data our client needed to meet their MDR requirement.

Indentifying Hidden Patterns in Complex Datasets with AI

The Challenge:

➤  Maintain methodological rigour in a study encompassing 108 qualitative interviews across 7 markets for a nebulization device

+

➤  Identify patterns in the data across stakeholders (nurses/physicians), work setting (ED vs Wards) and device usage

Our Solution:

➤  We deployed AI-assisted thematic coding to develop a structured codeframe, eliminating coder drift at scale

+

➤  Quantifying theme prevalence across stakeholder, setting and device usage gave statistical weight to our qualitative deep dive

Assess Market Opportunity for Covered Stent Concept

The Challenge:

➤  From a small but targetted sample of Vascular Surgeons in USA + Europe, uncover the impact that a new stent design will have on product cannibalization vs market expansion

Our Solution:

To get the most out of small samples we employ our key principles of:

a)  Direct respondent relationships (no outsourcing to fieldwork agencies)

b)  One moderator to oversee the entire study from brief to report

Utilising AI to Access Hard To Reach Samples

The Challenge:

➤  Locate European Urologists who placer radiation spacers for prostate cancer (mainly the role of Radiation Oncologist)

+

➤  Respondent targets also had to be attending EAU conference to attend our in-depth prototype evaluation

Our Solution:

➤  AI tools helped us locate centers where Urologists are known placer of radiations spacers – the list was then cross referenced against the speakers list to create a targetted list of physicians

+

➤  The rest relied on our human touch to engage physicans and secure meetings during the conference

Quantitative Survey at Global Cardiology Meeting

The Challenge:

➤  Achieve a total sample of 150 interviews with delegates who perform a minimum procedure volume of PCI

+

➤  Gather feedback from physicians attending our clients satellite symposium

Our Solution:

➤  With an experienced team of conference interviewers we studied the conference programme to locate the optimal locations to find qualifying physicians

+

➤  Relocated our team to the symposium exit to canvas physicians leaving

Linking our client with KOL for case observation

The Challenge:

➤  Gain access to the highest volume EVAR center in Germany to watch multiple complex EVAR cases live

+

➤  Hold de-brief sessions with the Vascular Surgeon to discuss the procedural workflow pain points

Our Solution:

➤  We leveraged our long-standing and close relationships with heads of department to arrange a site visit for our client

+

➤  Dealt with all regulatory and compliance matters to ensure our visit did not breach hospital protocol
